We would like to bring to your attention an issue concerning withheld numbers.
Our main telephone line has been set up so that it will not accept calls from withheld numbers. The reason for this is simple: as a business our telephone number is on thousands, maybe millions of databases, and thus we are constantly being bombarded with useless marketing calls, tying up our time and telephone line. These companies virtually always use withheld numbers, so thus I have subscribed to BT's 'Reject Withheld Numbers' service and this has stopped virtually all of them, but unfortunately this also prevents legitimate customers who wish to withhold their number for personal reasons from getting through.
There is a solution - if you wish to call me from a withheld number line, you can get through if you dial 1470 01209 314144, this will release your number just for the one call and let you get through. I regret inconveniencing people like this, but if you've ever been plagued by these unwelcome calls, you'll know how annoying it can be. I can highly recommend the BT service, you can get it on your home line very cheaply, I think it's just £4 a quarter.
